What Space Package is

Space package is an alternative service from Form + Space, which offers clients do-it-yourself custom-designed spaces for a reasonable fee.

Who Space Package is for

Space package is for prospective clients who don't really want or need Form + Space’s full range of services. Some may want to address only one or two rooms in their house; others may have a limited budget; still others may want to do their own purchasing based on a design “master plan” for their rooms. Regardless of their different motives, all of these clients share a desire for a personalized design experience, want to be actively involved in the design process, and have an appreciation of the Form + Space design aesthetic.

How Space Package works

First, we need to get a sense of our prospective client’s taste. We ask Space package clients several design-oriented questions, and take digital photos of the rooms they want designed, as well as photos of the exterior of their homes. We measure rooms and necessary windows, millwork, existing furniture, etc… Once we determine the client’s design direction (i.e. classic, modern, mid-century, eclectic, etc), we create a personalized master design plan.

This process takes four to six weeks after placing a Space package order, the client receives, for each room, a presentation box or notebook containing Form + Space’s master design plan for the room, which includes:

•a personalized concept board (color images, magazine tears, sketches, etc.) to convey the design inspiration

•a detailed schematic furniture plan, drawn to scale, with specific furniture pieces selected and resourced

•samples of specific fabric materials, samples of wallpaper and/or paint, flooring, tile, and hardware photos

•a detailed shopping list of resources - both local and on-line - for all design elements

•a step-by-step explanation of how to pull all the elements of the presentation together

Using this personalized plan, the client is free to follow our parameters as closely or as loosely as they want.

What instant/space costs

Clients decide how many rooms to design, from a powder room to an entire floor of rooms. Design fees for instant gratification are based on the average scope of design and size of the room. living rooms, kitchens, and family rooms generally require more design and therefore cost a bit more.

Hallways, entry-ways, powder rooms: $750

Dining rooms, bedrooms, home offices, bathrooms: $1050

Living rooms, kitchens and family rooms: $1295

We also offer a 10% price break to any client who chooses to use Space Package for 3 or more rooms at one time.

Satisfaction with your design

Though we work hard to satisfy every client’s taste, there will be times when a suggestion is not to their liking. We welcome comments and will always try to remedy any client’s issue. Unfortunately, however, once a presentation is delivered, we are unable to re-design a presentation or refund design fees. We can however help in selecting a reasonable number of alternate choices.
